Depression

The days dragged on, each feeling longer than the one before. Everything seemed hopeless, with no end in sight. Pain prevented me speaking about what was happening… shame drove me deeper into my vortex of sadness.

Walking the dog, taking a shower, answering emails and paying bills all felt like wearisome burdens. I wished I could just go away… disappear somewhere and not have to deal with my life.

Looking back I can see that my hopelessness, exhaustion and despair were symptoms of depression. I had lost the ability to function well in the world, to experience pleasure or humour – I felt debilitated, alone and powerless to help myself.

Now, I know it didn’t have to be this way. Not for anyone.

When I sought help from a qualified expert, who specialised in Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy I began to heal. It was as though a fog lifted,my spirits enlivened and gradually I felt my energy return.

So if you, or someone you love, suffer with depression, know that you too can get help. The experts at Seekhelp can equip you to manage depression and renew your zest for life.
