In Hwa was born in Korea but emigrated to New Zealand where he has lived for the last 28 years. He’s an experienced individuals and couples counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor with training in social work, Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy and addiction treatment.
He has extensive experience treating clients with mental health and relationship issues and has a strong interest in working with cross-cultural and sexual identity issues. He is committed to facilitate people finding purpose, meaning and value in their life journey, to help them improve relationships and become freer.
In Hwa has enjoyed working with the Asian mental health service as a contractor, in private practice for many years, as well as the Family Court, Waitemata PHO and ACC.
Ethical and professional practice are important to him, as is self-care. He models healthy lifestyle by ensuring he recharges his own batteries by watching movies, spending time with friends over coffee, camping, travelling in Aotearoa and overseas and enjoying exotic food.
Counselling sessions can be in Korean and English.
